Sandy

Sandy is a stunning young female lurcher who spent several months living as a stray before arriving to us. On arrival she was nervous of the kennel team but has quickly settled in and warmed up to cuddles, walks and a bit of craic!
Sandy is terrific with all dogs. She would probably benefit from another dog in her future home for two reasons. Firstly, she is more confident in herself when she is around other dogs, it will make the settling process more straightforward in a new home if she has a buddy to learn from. Secondly, lurchers often don’t cope well alone, having another dog around for any leaving hours by the owner would be beneficial.
Sandy is surprisingly immaculate in her kennel. House-training will be no problem even though we don’t believe she has ever lived in a home before. Sandy also loves bed. Like a lot of lurchers, she will probably want to evict her owner from their sofa if they don’t provide her with a huge bed of her own!
Due to initial nervousness when she goes to her new home, as well as her history as a stray, we are hoping for a secure garden for Sandy. This gentle girl will be fine with children 8+.
Sandy is learning to walk on lead and is doing very well so far. Still, owners should know that all basic training and introductions to new places and people will need time and encouragement.
