Rembrandt (Remi)

Remi is less than a year old and is very petite, more of a whippet-lurcher than a greyhound-lurcher. He is still gaining weight after he was found fending for himself in a deserted office block in Cork city at the start July ’26. Since arriving to us he has been happy, loving, playful and so grateful for the attention and comfort.
Remi will be several months trying to balance out his weight but there is no reason why this can’t happen in a home (three smaller meals a day until he is in peak shape!)
With other dogs Remi is playful. He loves having the craic with them and we feel he would do great in a home with another dog. Another dog isn’t essential, but he should be provided with opportunities to walk with / meet other dogs if there isn’t a buddy in his home. Also, if no other dog in the home, we would hope for minimum leaving hours.
This is a very gentle dog, but still has some manners to learn around food (unsurprisingly). So we probably wouldn’t rehome Remi with very small kids, but children 8+ would be fine. He walks nicely onlead and walks right next to you even when he is offlead. And he LOVES bed!
This handsome boy will probably need a bit of house-training in his new home. Overall he is very clean overnight at the rescue but he will have never lived in a home before. Have a consistent routine (night and morning) for your first few weeks so he understands the parameters – and you’ll be away on a hack!
We love this dog so much but it is time for him to be loved and spoiled in a home now. Please consider offering him a bright future. You can apply once you have read the Adoption Process on the website and then please do submit an Adoption Questionnaire!
