Bandit

Bandit is an 18 month old Springer Spaniel who recently arrived to the rescue. He is a daft boy – full of energy, silliness and a tendency to act first-think later! A home with a sense of humour and tolerence for some of his more ridiculous moments would be an advantage!
Bandit is neutered and fully house-trained. He is always friendly and affectionate, but he is also strong. He could knock small children over and he can often jump up unexpectedly (in pure joy and enthusiasm) so we would prefer a home with children 12+.
Training will be needed with Bandit. He is all-over-the-place onlead and will need continued guidance in this aspect of training. Recall off the lead is good and he is very treat-motivated, so working with long-lines initially might be very helpful in cementing offlead training.
Ideally there would be a secure area in his new home. He loves being outside, dashing around, playing, sniffing and it will make an owner’s life much easier if they can safely let him hare around!
Within a home Bandit can be intense. He is interested in everything – countertops, sofas, tables – major investigations! He also likes to dig in his waterbowl!! These are all behaviours that need to be handled firmly with refocusing techniques. Again, if there is a useful outside space for energy to be burned off while you work on house-manners, it will make life much easier.
Bandit is really well-natured with the other dogs and could live with or without a (playful) companion in his future home.
If you think you have a fun, happy home that Bandit would love, please read the Adoption Process on the website and apply using the Adoption Questionnaire.
