Milo

Milo is full of fun, affection, and personality. He’ll be 6 years old in December and is neutered and healthy. He’s a happy, loving little character who adores being part of family life. Once you’ve earned his trust, he’ll completely melt your heart — he’s loyal, cuddly, and loves nothing more than curling up beside you on the couch after a busy day of fun.

During the day, Milo likes to be in the middle of everything — he’s curious, bright, and wants to see what’s going on. He’s also very clever and knows all his tricks — sit, paw, lie down, roll over — and will have you laughing with his funny little ways. He greets us every morning proudly carrying his teddy… or sometimes one of our slippers 🥹

Milo has lots of energy, and he needs a home where he’ll get plenty of love, play, and stimulation. He’s not the best on a lead — we live on a farm, and he’s used to running in the fields rather than daily walks. We did try lead training a few times, but with two small kids we couldn’t stay consistent. With patience and regular walks, he’d definitely get used to it, but he’s happiest playing fetch or chasing a ball in a secure garden and soaking up attention from his people.

He can be a bit reactive or excitable around other dogs at the start of a walk but tends to calm down once he’s settled. He’s been great with our older Bichon, Mikey, and we think he’d do really well with another friendly dog for company.

He’ll need regular grooming and a secure garden — he can be a bit of a Houdini when he’s feeling cheeky 🫠

And one of his cutest quirks — Milo is afraid of thunder and of that little beep the fire alarm makes when the battery is low 😅. When there’s a storm, he likes to have a “thunder buddy” nearby and a cozy blanket fort or tent to hide in. Once he’s tucked in with his teddy and you beside him, he relaxes and drifts off again 🥹💛

💛 Our Perfect Home for Milo

We’re looking for a five-star home where Milo will be adored, understood, and kept safe and happy. Ideally:
• Someone who already has a friendly dog looking for a playmate.
• Someone who is home most of the day and can give him the time and attention he thrives on.
• Children over 6 – purely because we’ve always been cautious about giving Milo his own space when resting. When our first baby crawled over to his bed years ago, he gave a little growl (understandable, he was still adjusting), so since then we’ve always kept a gate separating his rest area. He’s never done it again and has been fantastic with the kids, but we’ve always respected his need for boundaries.
• A large, enclosed, secure garden (Milo loves to explore and will test boundaries for fun).
• Ideally based in Cork, so we can stay in touch from time to time — a little update or photo every now and then would mean the world.
