Heidi

Heidi is a 4 year old large sized Collie mix, we don’t know what the mix is!  She showed up in good condition as a stray in someone’s yard and after a long period of trying to find an owner, she came to our rescue centre.

Heidi mixes really well with other dogs but her focus is almost always on her person! She can be quite overwhelming with her love and attachment to people and will need an active, attyentive home where there is someone around for most of the day.  We see her doing really well on a small-holding or rural home where she can potter around a garden and be with a loving owner most of the time.

Heidi is a very clean dog, for a stray she seems well house-trained.  There will be some input needed on this but we don’t foresee any prolonged issues.  We feel that Heidi would be ok with cats as long as sensible introductions are made. Children 8+ for Heidi, she can jump up trying to hug you!

Finally, this dog is able to scale fences and gates so we are not looking for a secure garden for her.  We are seeking a rural location away from a busy road.  We’re confident that when she has a home to call her own, and an owner who she can adore and follow around, she won’t wander off. Her finders didn’t have a secure garden and she stayed happily with them for a month!  She is microchipped and a tag on her collar will be an essential requirement for her future home.
