Hector is a young male Lab x Collie approx. 18 months old. His owner gave him up when he could no longer secure accommodation for himself and hector. It soon became apparent at the rescue that this poor dog had a very nervous disposition and had apparently been mistreated by a previous flatmate of the owners. Because of this and obvious lack of socialisation Hector was extremely fearful of everyone he came into contact with at the rescue. It took a few weeks of gentle coaxing to get Hector to let anyone get close and even attempt to touch him. However as you can from the picture he is much happier. The way to Hectors heart it seems is through a simple game of fetch! He will need an experienced owner who has past experience with nervous rescue dogs but he will make a great companion dog once a little time has been spent with him. He walks well on a lead and has excellent off lead recall (once there is a ball or stick involved) and he enjoys the company of other dogs. Hector so deserves that special someone who can be his person. if you would like to meet Hector then please call the rescue.
