Winnie – RESERVED

Winnie the Whippet is a very special, gentle little dog.  We took her from the pound when they contacted us for assistance with her and we have all been head over heels every since!

Winnie is tiny, she weighs in at just 11kg. To illustrate her size we are attaching a “before” photo to her write-up (website only). The photo also helps to shows the road she has travelled to get to this point.

Winnie is so so gentle and well behaved – no barking or separation anxiety or destruction. She seems very timid when you first meet her, but she becomes a fun, nuzzly, curious little girl when she feels safe.

Winnie is at her most confident and expressive when playing with other dogs. It is essential there is a companion dog in her new home – one who will play nicely with her and then hopefully curl up with her!

Most things will be new to Winnie – she travelled well from the pound and the vets but cars will be largely new to her. She has probably never lived in a home before but she will be wherever her bed is! House-training should be smooth, she understands not to mess her area if she can avoid it.

Young children would probably make Winnie nervous. Children who can understand a hands-off, gentle, encouraging relationship with her would be fine though, so we’ll look at it on a case-by-case basis. A secure garden would be preferrable as we have no history on her, only that she was a stray.

We are so proud of Winnie, her future owner is one lucky person! If you would like to apply to adopt Winnie please read the Adoption Process on our website and apply using the Adoption Questionnaire.
