Marlay

Marlay is an almost 9 year old golden retriever. He is a big, cuddly dude who adds a lot of happiness to the days at WCAWG!
Marlay arrived to us with a very large cancerous tumour on his face. We have taken off the Mast Cell tumour, we hope we got it all, but the lump was so close to his eye it was hard to acheive the cleanest margins possible.
Whether or not this tumour regrows in a year or so, another Mast Cell tumour could reappear elsewhere at any time. As a result we are looking for a home who understands that Marlay may have a limited lifespan, but who would like to make whatever months or years he has left the best ever!
Marlay is great with other dogs, he is happy to share his space with them and play away on walks. He has always had a doggie companion so a home with other dogs is a plus, but not essential. Marley loves having company – we are looking for a home with minimal leaving hours.
Marley is strong onlead initally but once you settle into your walk he eases up and walks along nicely. Off the lead he is very reliable. He can be quite mouthy which, along with future potential health issues, makes us err on the side of caution and look for a home with children 14+
Marlay loves walking around with a soft toy in his mouth all the time – he is a classic retriever! If no toys are on hand a blankie or food bowl will also work nicely!!
