Freda

Freda is a young, approx 18 month old lurcher who was found as a stray before coming into our care. She is timid and gentle and will need plenty of encouragement and love in her new home.
Freda tends to come out of her shell most when she is around other dogs, so we are committed to finding a home where there is canine company for her. She loves to curl up with them inside and sprint around with them outside, having a companion will make the settling process in the home so much easier for her.
Freda is immaculately clean in her kennel. We don’t believe she had ever lived in a home before coming here so we can’t say she is “house-trained” but we can’t see house-training presenting any issue once there is a clear routine in her new home.
Freda is so sweet and gentle, but she has definitely had unnerving experiences with humans before. She always errs on the side of worry and caution when meeting new people, so a home where she has lots of opportunity for positive, fun experiences (but not mollycoddling!) would be great.
Because of her fear of humans and sudden movements we can’t really rehome her with very young children but a home with older, dog-savvy children 10+ would absolutely be considered.
Freda is a messer offlead. She loves the sprints and playtime but she will come back when she feels like it! A secure garden is therefore going to be required for Freda.
